Thanksgiving!

We had a great thanksgiving! Michael and I made the always yummy squash casserole. I didn't take a picture of it at the time so here is a pic from someone else that did the recipe.

Here is a link to the recipe we used off of allrecipes.com

We also made for our second dish a homemade green been casserole, a thanksgiving staple. I got my inspiration/ recipe from here: http://sallysbakingaddiction.com/2014/11/21/creamy-green-bean-casserole-from-scratch/

This was fun to make since it was TOTALLY from scratch. Even down to making our own cream of mushroom. Michael made beautiful baked "fried onions". Unfortunately we didn't take pics :(
I also pinned this on my pinterest page. https://www.pinterest.com/itslaurah/fall-festivity/
Please follow me on pinterest since im always updating that with fun inspiration!

Also on the menu was a beautifully brined, basted, and loved turkey made by Michael's sister Hilary. Also coming from the kitchen was stuffing with a mix of sourdough breads and cornbread (awesome!), homemade rolls (The kid's favorite), and Michael's mom Kristin made phenomenal pumpkin pie!

Pre meal we had Mike the Mixologist creating beautiful Smith & Wesson's for all of the adults.  This is mine and Mike's "anniversary drink". We drank this on our first official date together in December 2013 at the matador in Tacoma.

FOR YOU TO MAKE YOUR OWN: Smith and Wesson Cocktail Recipe. Pour 1 OZ vodka, 1 OZ kahlua, and 2 OZ cream into glass filled with ice, then top off with Pepsi- just a splash! Too much pop on top is NEVER good!
